The SBAA women’s volleyball team showcased an outstanding performance, cruising to a dominant 2-0 victory over the School of Natural Sciences (SNS) with set scores of 25-18 and 25-14. Their commanding display of teamwork, strategic precision, and resilience led them to a well-earned win, marking a pivotal moment in their season.
“This win means so much to us because we didn’t let setbacks define us,” said Tisha Manliguez. “Instead, we kept our composure, worked as a team, and achieved the outcome we were fighting for. Most importantly, we had fun, smiled, and made the most of the moment. Given our losses in the previous two games, it’s an understatement to say that it feels remarkable.”
From the very start of both sets, SBAA established control, executing sharp attacks and strong serves while maintaining an impenetrable defense. The team’s ability to remain composed under pressure was evident throughout. “More than our abilities, we were able to stay motivated and press through every point because of our positive mindset and joy on the court,” Tisha added.
Unity and preparation were key to their success. “We realized after our first two losses that we needed to improve and change. Our key objectives were to team up, communicate better, and keep our plays consistent.” Tisha explained. “We worked hard to minimize errors, especially in attacking and receiving.” Beyond the technical side of the game, maintaining mental strength and staying upbeat were essential to their triumph.
Vannette Mostoles emphasized the importance of trust and teamwork in overcoming obstacles during the match. “We have cooperation and teamwork that help us ensure smooth communication and coordination on the court also having faith in each other that builds us trust and confidence. ,” she said. “More than anything, we never let the pressure get to us we kept thinking positive, encouraged each other, and had fun on the court.”
With this victory behind them, SBAA is already setting its sights on the next set of challenges, preparing for two upcoming matches this Wednesday and Friday. The team’s goal is to carry this momentum forward and continue to progress in the competition.
“This victory is just only the beginning,” Vannette affirmed. “We’ll continue to push ourselves to claim the trophy, also to overcome the challenges and achieve success. No matter the results, we’ve learned to trust each other, keep smiling, and enjoy every game as a team.”
