The Equilixia Federation of Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants – R1CAR’s 14th Annual Regional Convention, on June 29-30, 2024 at the Leisure Coast Resort in Dagupan City, Pangasinan with the inspiring theme “Federation’s Finest: Inspiring Hearts, Igniting Minds, Illuminating Paths, One Beat at a Time,” brought together the finest young minds from different schools across Region 1 and Cordillera Administrative Region. Among the participants who stood out were the accountancy students from the University of Baguio, who left their mark on the competition.

Cherry Ann Guitoc emerged as a star of the convention by claiming the championship title in the Trial By Fire: Search For Regional Accounting Wizard. She also won another medal during one of the non-academic events. These achievements have allowed her to secure the title of the Most Outstanding JPIAn. Her profound knowledge and quick thinking set her apart in this fiercely competitive event, solidifying her reputation as a formidable accounting talent.

The Team UB Aces, led by Fritzel Diale with her teammates Riann Josh Juan, Alysha Rose Odchigue, and Mikkie Valdez, showcased exceptional teamwork and strategic prowess during the R1CAR Family Feud competition. Despite losing to their opponents during their first match, they continue to fight their way to the finals for a rematch. Their seamless coordination and quick thinking were pivotal in securing the championship title.
In The Regional Race, Fritzel Diale, Cherry Ann Guitoc, and Glory Ann Llamas showcased their versatility and teamwork. They had a rough start with their first mission but they were able to gain momentum and went ahead to finish the rest of the missions with the shortest time among their competitors. Their determination and collaborative spirit paid off as they bagged another medal.
This event has tested not only the academic ability of students but also their non-academic skills which aligns with the Sustainable Development Goal of Quality Education. The success of the University of Baguio Accountancy students at the 14th Annual Regional Convention is a testament to their prowess and potential. Their achievements serve as an inspiration for their peers, motivating them to aim high and achieve greatness.
